Spelling word lists for the week:
Group 1: community, hole, prettiest, too, with, confusion, hopeless, pretty, trouble and won.
Group 2: our, was, be, his, out, we, because, how, over and went.
Bonus word for both groups: rambunctious (adjective) - When you act wild and noisy, you are being rambunctious.
Flat Stanley: We have received our Flat Stanley's from our pen pals in the UK. Students need to write their return letters, and include pictures and/or drawings with their letters, so that we can get them sent back. I would like to have them by Friday, November 4, 2011.

Group 1: at, her, one,us, away, here, or, very, back and him.
Group 2: by, have, people, through, whole, can't, hidden, prettier, to and winner.
Bonus word for both groups: generous, (adjective) A person who is willing to share with others is generous.
Homework Folder: Has already been sent home for this week and is due no later than Friday, October 28, 2011.
Please be sure to sign your child's spelling when they bring it home on Friday's each week.

Hello!
Spelling:
Group #1- before, getting, one, thought, whether, buy, governor, our, threw, and who.
Group #2 - now, too, as, have,of, two,asked, he, on and up.
Bonus word for both groups: pounce (verb)- You pounce when you jump on something suddenly.
I would like students to use each spelling word from their list in a complete sentence. Then they are to do some word work and find as many smaller words in each of their spelling words as they can.
There is no school for students on Friday, October 21, 2011, as teachers are travelling to the mainland for meetings.

Hello, I hope that everyone enjoyed their Thanksgiving weekend!
This week the students will have spelling words for their homework.
Group #1: beautiful, friendly, no, they, when, because, general, off, they've and where.
Group #2: an, going, no, this, and, had, not, to, are and has.
Bonus word for both groups: dainty (adjective) Something is dainty when it is very delicate.
Instead of the usual homework folder this week I would like all students to use each spelling word in a complete sentence.
I would also like each student to do a word building activity with their spelling words. For example, Beautiful (see how many smaller words they can come up with from the letters in beautiful), be, it, fit, beau, tube, file, feat, beat, tab, tile but, bite, lit, fib, bet, eat, tea, etc.
